Women Are Amazing

A friend recently posted the below on Facebook. It’s so true. Not that men aren’t equally amazing. They are. I’ve never understood a couple of things. One: Why don’t women embrace being women. That means we aren’t men, probably shouldn’t be treated like them, are unique and how amazing is that? Two: Why don’t we support each other more? We’re all women, we all go through a list of the same issues, we’re all struggling in similar ways. Geez, band together and raise each other up.

There are so many things about being a woman that I love. My curves, my sexuality, the fact that my body has created life for goodness sake. Life. Not only has it created life, it’s sustained it. I’m proud that – not only have I had breast augmentation (which I love) – I got it because it was the only thing about my body I couldn’t get back and I breastfed my kids for a total of 11 years. My body experienced 7 pregnancies and ten surgeries. I lost my uterus and my cervix to give life, I suffered miscarriages and loss. I was a stay at home Mommy for a decade. I cooked and cleaned and cuddled. I love being maternal. I love that I am compassionate and empathetic. I’m grateful that I can relate to how my kids feel and love them, but also let them go. Being a woman is powerful and sexy. It’s empowering and tender.

So, for all the women in my life – embrace yourselves! You are amazing!
